As has become customary in the Parish prior to St Brigid’s Day, a band of willing workers met in The Old School House Ballycran for the annual Rush Party to make St Brigid’s crosses in preparation for the feast. While a good few crosses were made on the night a great many more were made before and afterwards ready to be blessed on 2nd February this year as St Brigid’s Day fell on a Sunday. Fr Neeson did the needful at morning Mass which was the Mass for Candlemas Day when he also blessed the candles for home use and for the church. Many thanks to all those who made the crosses for the Parish both on the night and at home and also to those who provided the rushes.
