05. Year of Mercy Devotions ~ 2016

Bishop Treanor wrote in his Pastoral Letter for the Jubilee of Mercy: “I invite everyone in the Diocese to observe a special “Day of Mercy” on the last Friday of every month. This should be a day of prayer, fasting and almsgiving; a day when we remember God’s mercy for us and share that mercy with others.”

In union with all other Parishes in the Diocese, we celebrated a “Special Day of Mercy” on Friday 26th February when Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament took place from 7.00pm followed by evening Mass at 7.30pm when we venerated the icon of Our Lady of Perpetual Help and recited the Jubilee Prayer in addition to the Novena prayers.

Below the Icon of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in St Mary, Star of the Sea Church, The Parish of Ardkeen has its own Year of Mercy ‘Door’ including a perpetual lamp burning for the Jubilee Year.
