08. Parish Mission ~ 2020

As the days began to get shorter and Summer gradually gave way to Autumn; for three evenings, from 30th September to 2nd October, a Parish Mission was held outdoors in the grounds of St Joseph’s Church, Ballycranbeg, hosted by Fr Alexander.

It was Fr Alexander’s wish that over the three evenings we would have the opportunity to reflect on the three theological virtues of Faith, Hope and Love and be guided by the guest speakers who were three Priests from our own Diocese of Down and Connor. Finally, we would have some actions that we would be encouraged to do at home.

There was a great turnout of Parishioners and visitors from other Parishes and a wonderful atmosphere prevailed during the three evenings. As well as being blessed with good weather we were further blessed by the words of our three guest speakers: Fr Martin Graham, Administrator of St Peter’s Cathedral in Belfast; Fr Conor McGrath, Parish Priest of Glenravel and Braid and Fr Dominic McGrattan, from our neighbouring Parish of Portaferry and who is Chaplain to Queen’s University, Belfast.

…and now these three remain: Faith, Hope and Love…
…but the greatest of these is Love…
