Traditionally, in January each year, a St Brigid’s Cross Rush Party is arranged by The Parish Social Committee to make crosses for the Parish to be blessed for St Brigid’s Day. Unfortunately, due to the Covid 19 restrictions, this was not possible this year.
However, as an alternative, the help of a number of volunteers from the Parish and beyond was enlisted to make crosses and between them the magnificent number of 276 crosses were made.
These crosses were blessed by Fr Alexander on St Brigid’s Day and then distributed along with the weekly Faith Survival Kits the following weekend.
Many thanks are due to all those willing volunteers who took the time to make the crosses.
May the blessing of God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit be on this cross, on the place where it stands and on every one who looks at it. Amen.
