Demolition Work

The major part of the renovation to St Mary Star of the Sea Church was to provide a bigger car park for the use of parishioners and in order to do that the Parochial House, Parochial Hall and the old Inishargy Hall, which was built in 1910, had to be demolished. So very quickly the landscape at Nunsquarter changed forever as the buildings were methodically and carefully stripped and knocked down. The following pictures give you an idea of the mammoth task that was involved and also the huge change that was taking place before our very eyes.
