10. European Heritage Open Days at Lisbane 2012

The Northern Ireland Environment Agency presented its European Heritage Open Days for 2012 on the weekend of 8th and 9th September. Our own Saint Patrick’s Church at Lisbane was included in the brochure of ancient buildings which would be open to the public to visit. During the weekend a large number of visitors (approx 170) were welcomed to the church by Eddie McGrattan who was able to provide information on its history. Among the visitors was a man who as a child was an altar-boy in the church and remembers serving Mass when it was said in Latin!
