The pictures show the huge number of bags of clothing and goods stored in every ‘nook and cranny’ in Kathleen McCarthy’s shop. This is the most recent batch of bags awaiting transportation to the needy people of Moldova as this appeal is ongoing throughout the year.
Moldova is a landlocked country in Eastern Europe bordered by Romania to the west and by Ukraine to the north, east and south. Formerly a part of the Soviet Union, it declared independence on 27th August 1991.
Sincere thanks to all those in the Parish and the surrounding community who contributed such a huge amount and be assured every item will be used. Your continuing generosity is very much appreciated. Thanks to Kathleen for the use of her premises for storage and to Mary Edge who also stores bags in her home. Finally, thanks to the team of helpers who give of their time to make sure everything is ready for collection.
Also included are pictures from the Moldova Newsletter giving information on the voluntary work completed to help people in Moldova and some photographs of Aid delivered to Moldova in 2015.
Kathleen has requested that no more bags be left at her shop until the next collection. She and Kieran have work to do on the shop and need the space to carry it out. Thank you sincerely.
